How long will it take to have my prefab structure delivered?
Upon ordering and payment receipt you you will be issued a despatch date. This date is generally at least 6 weeks from payment.
If you have special needs or particular deadline, we will look at our production schedule and do our best to work to your requirements. Please call today if you would like to discuss this further.
-
Do you offer finished interior options?
Currently we do not offer interior lining. Our garden sheds do not require lining if being used for garden storage.
-
What are garden buildings commonly used for?
Cubby houses, Sheds and Cabanas are generally smaller structures deigned as non-habitable outbuildings. They are generally used as kids play houses, storage of garden tools & sports equipment etc, and pool side shade/seating areas.
-
How does payment work?
Online Purchases: Full payment is required at point of purchase for any online purchase. All online payments are processed through our secure online payment gateway.
-
Is this a kit?
Depends.
Our structures are pre-built so do not require plans, instead they come with DIY assembly instructions. They are easy and simply to erect.
Everything leaves our factory pre-built. They are simply separated into sections ready for transport. All you have to do is assemble the product on site.
-
How long does setup normally take?
Because we pre-make our products at our manufacturing plant, most of our structures only take one day onsite to setup. This also means they can be taken down and moved again at a later date...
-
Do I need building approval?
Installation of garden sheds and outbuildings can be carried out in most councils under exempt development provisions. To confirm which size you are allowed please contact your local council and ask what is the largest shed you can build as an exempt development. They will also be able to provide you with any other exempt development requirements that may apply to your proposed shed/cubby or cabana project. This will allow you to erect it in your backyard without having to formally notify your council or your neighbours
The responsibility for obtaining approval for development work falls on the property owner. If you do require approval and would like to order elevation drawings with your shed please let us know and we can prepare these to assist with your development or planning application.
-
Where are these products manufactured?
All our structures are made here in Australia.
In buying direct from the factory you receive excellent quality & great value. Furthermore we do not use ’sweat-shops’ or the exploitation of disadvantaged persons away from society.
-
What type of foundation do I need?
Our sheds come with their own heavy duty pole floor with adjustable legs which assists with erecting your shed on uneven or sloping sites.
If you have an existing concrete slab, you can save on time by setting our structure up directly onto the concrete. Alternatively you may prefer to arrange your own concrete footing pads for each pier in advance.
-
Do you offer a warranty?
All structures on this site come with 10 year structural warranty and Cedarshield carries a 5 year manufacturer warranty.
-
Are they weatherproof?
Designed by Australians, for Australians in Australia, our structures are also made in Australia specifically to stand up to the harsh Australian climate.
-
What's the roof material?
We use Bluescope Colorbond roofing on our Sheds and Cabanas. Visit http://www.colorbond.com/ for further information.
-
Can I live in it?
Our garden sheds are a too small to live in however many clients affirm that our larger garden rooms are exceptionally comfortable! Remember to ensure there is provision for your proposed usage in the consent conditions of whichever development planning pathway you choose to adhere to.
-
Can I customise at all?
Our Gecko sheds range cannot be customised apart from the basic selection of window and door locations during assembly onsite. If you need a custom size, shape and/or options we recommend Melwood Cabanas and Garden Rooms - see www.melwood.com.au for more information.
